PAST + FUTURE = PRESENT Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Black Belt Eagle Scout, Jlin, Glen Begay and the Bearspring Singers

Celebrating the diverse musical genres featuring artists driving contemporary Native culture with PAST + FUTURE = PRESENT, Pt. 1 and Pt. 2 feature a thoughtfully selected lineup of musicians who have made their mark channeling a liberatory future through music and powerful performances that honor culture and ancestry. Throughout the two-part festival-style series, hip hop, experimental, pow wow, indie, electronic, and soul music coexist. PAST + FUTURE = PRESENT, Pt. 1 featured Haisla hip hop duo Snotty Nose Rez Kids, Swinomish/Iñupiaq Black Belt Eagle Scout, electronic musician Jlin debuted a series of three specially commissioned collaborative compositions featuring recordings made by Navajo/Diné musician Glen Begay and the Bearspring singers performed live on stage. Footwork musician DJ Noir opened the night.
