Organized by CAP UCLA, In Plain Site: Los Angeles traced Trisha Brown’s choreographic exploration of sculpture, architecture, and spatial design in a reframed dialogue within visual art and museum culture. The program consisted of two events: One, a conversation between architect Elizabeth Diller and Susan Rosenberg, Consulting Historical Scholar at TBDC, moderated by Kristy Edmunds, CAP UCLA. The conversation explored how Brown’s choreography shaped the experimental performances of the 1970s and ‘80s New York, which in turn influenced Diller’s approach to architecture and design. The second event presented a unique iteration of In Plain Site: Los Angeles created specifically by The Broad’s architecture and galleries.
